The accusation against the applicant is that on 23.10.2020 he, under the influence of liquor, heaped filthy abuses on his mother and when his father made an attempt to make the applicant see reason, the applicant brutally assaulted his father with knife causing instantaneously death.

Crime 274/2021 is registered with Police Station Sirajgaon (Kasba), District Amravati on the basis of report lodged by the mother of the applicant, who is an eye witness.

There is more than ample material on record to connect the applicant with the crime. The applicant brutally killed his father by inflicting multiple wounds with knife. The version of the eye witnesses is consistent.

Considering the overwhelming material on record, the fact that many eye witnesses are close relatives of the applicant and the possibility of the applicant influencing them cannot be ruled out and the over all circumstances of the crime, I am not inclined to exercise discretion in favour of the applicant.

However, the learned trial court is requested to expedite the trial.

The application is dismissed.
