We deem it appropriate to dispose of the petition by directing the respondent no.1 to decide the pending appeal bearing Appeal No.20/2024 expeditiously and in any case within a period of three months as we are informed that the same is pending from last year.

However, we clarify that if the appellants in the said appeal has prayed for grant of interim relief/stay, the same be decided within a period of two weeks from the date of production of copy of this order. We further clarify that since the election programme is already announced, we are not inclined to cause indulgence at this stage of the proceedings in the wake of aforesaid directions. Liberty to the petitioner to take recourse to such remedy as is available in law once the appeal pending with the respondent no.1 is decided. 3.

With these directions and clarifications, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
