Hearing was conducted through video conferencing and the learned counsel agreed that the audio and visual quality was proper.

3] The applicant is seeking pre-arrest protection, apprehending arrest in Crime 265/2020 registered with Police Station Umarkhed, District Yavatmal for offence punishable under section 143, 147, 148, 149, 307, 324, 504 and 506 read with section 34 of the Indian Penal Code. 4] There is more than ample material on record to connect the applicant with the crime. While as many as sixteen accused are arraigned, the main role in the assault is assigned to the applicant. It is the applicant who inflicted
aba416.20.O.odt the axe blow which caused the grievous injury and the injured witness was admitted in the hospital from 07.06.2020 to 25.06.2020. The weapon is to be recovered. This is not a case for exercise of discretion in favour of the applicant.
5] The learned counsel for the applicant points out that accused 2 and 3 are granted pre-arrest protection by this Court. Perusal of the orders reveal that the accused who are protected are women and the role assigned to them is assault by sticks. The principle of parity cannot be invoked. 6] The application is dismissed.
