The applicant is a technician working with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited ("MSEDCL").

According to the applicant, he lodged report at 00.47 hrs on 3.7.2020. It is alleged in the report lodged by the applicant that he along with security guard Anil sought to initiate action against illegal electricity connection at the tyre repair workshop of the son of the informant and it was the applicant, who was manhandled. According to the applicant, as a counter blast, the informant lodged report, subsequent to the report lodged by the applicant, pursuant to which Crime 153/2020 is registered with Police Station

aba449of2020 Hiwarkhed for offence punishable under sections 354, 354-A, 506 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code. This Court protected the applicant vide order dated 4.8.2020 and directed the applicant to attend Police Station Hiwarkhed. It is not the case of the prosecution that the applicant did not attended the Police Station, as directed. Considering the nature of the accusation and the possibility that the report is lodged as a counter blast to deter the applicant from initiating action, the interim order dated 4.8.2020 is made absolute with the modification that the applicant shall attend the concerned Police Station as and when required by the Investigating officer.

The applicant shall not, directly or indirectly, make any attempt to influence the witnesses or otherwise tamper with the investigation.

The applicant shall not leave the country without the permission of the trial Court.
