CORAM : SMT. VASANTI A NAIK AND KUM. INDIRA JAIN, JJ.
DATED : SEPTEMBER 01, 2016.
The learned counsel for the parties state that the cause for filing the writ petition is rendered infructuous due to passage of time. It is stated that, by filing the writ petition, the election process initiated in the year 2005 for election to the Gram Panchayat was challenged.
Since the term of the members of the Gram Panchayat is only five years, the cause for filing the writ petition is rendered infructuous. We, therefore, dispose of the writ petition, as infructuous, with no order as to costs. Rule stands discharged.
