The applicant is implicated in Crime 24/2020 registered with Police Station Dattapur, District Amravati for the offences punishable under Sections 380, 411, 457 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code. 3.

The applicant is a jeweller. On the basis of disclosure statements by the arrested co-accused, the police issued a communication to the applicant stating therein that stolen ornaments are sold to him and that the police would conduct an inspection and seizure on 08-4-2020. Accordingly, the relevant bill book and receipt book is seized. Mr. R.M. Daga further states that after the interim protection, certain ornaments are also seized by the police.

At least, at this stage, it does not appear that

2 aba464.20 there is any material on record to suggest that the applicant purchased, assuming that the applicant did purchase, the stolen property, knowing or having reason to believe that the property is stolen.

The application is allowed.

The interim protection granted vide order dated 30-4-2020 is made absolute with the only modification that the applicant shall attend the concerned police station, till filing of the charge-sheet, as and when required by the Investigating Officer.
