The petitioner who is convicted for offence punishable under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, has prayed for grant of parole to attend the marriage of his sister. The copy of the judgment by which the petitioner is convicted is produced at the time of hearing. The fact shows that the petitioner (aged about 18 years at the time of commission of offence) committed the crime on victim aged about 6 years.

Considering the findings recorded by the learned Sessions Judge and the nature of crime, we are not inclined to grant parole as prayed for by the petitioner. The writ petition is dismissed.

However, the Superintendent of Prisons, shall consider the request if made by the petitioner for attending the marriage in police escort on payment of necessary charges. This request should be considered only for the day on which marriage of petitioner's sister is scheduled i.e. only for one day.
