IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT BOMBAY

NAGPUR BENCH : NAGPUR PUBLIC INTEREST LITIGATION NO.44 OF 2015 (Manoj s/o Namdeorao Walke vs. State of Maharashtra and another) __________________________________________________________________ Office Notes, Office Memoranda of Coram, appearances, Court's orders Court's or Judge's orders or directions and Registrar's orders.

Shri A.R. Ingole, Advocate for petitioner.

Smt. K. Deshpande, Assistant Government Pleader for respondents.

---------- CORAM : B.R. GAVAI AND P.N. DESHMUKH, JJ.

DATED : FEBRUARY 25, 2016 The petitioner, who is a social worker, has filed the present petition for issuance of direction to respondents to create the posts of Extension Officer (Social Welfare) for effective implementation of various Schemes floated under the Social Welfare Department at Panchayat Samiti level.

It is the contention of the petitioner that though there are various schemes framed by the State Government in the Department of Social Welfare, on account of non-availability of posts of Extension Officer (Social Welfare) at the Panchayat Samiti level, the said schemes cannot be implemented effectively.

In the affidavit dated 14/10/2015 filed on behalf of respondents, it is stated that in the meeting held

2/2 on 1/4/2015 under the Chairmanship of Hon'ble Chief Minister, it was proposed to create additional posts for implementation of schemes framed under Social Justice Department.

Vide our order dated 7/1/2016 we had asked the learned Assistant Government Pleader to take instructions as to within how much time the posts would be created.

Accordingly, affidavit dated 24/2/2016 is filed on behalf of State Government wherein it is stated that a period of about six months would be required for creation of the said posts.

The petition is, therefore, disposed of by accepting the statement made on behalf of State Government that posts as prayed for in the petition would be created within six months from today.
