The Petitioner-Institution has filed this writ petition seeking a direction to set aside the communication dated 11 July 2006 and to direct the Respondents to grant permission to the Petitioner to run the College on No-Grant Basis instead of Permanent No-Grant Basis.

Rule was issued in this Petition. No interim relief was

WP.2888.08 granted. The cause has arisen 16 years ago. The learned counsel for the Petitioners has no instructions as to the current status. Several changes have occurred by now. The request of the Petitioners to convert the status of grant must have undergone a change. We are of the opinion that no fruitful purpose will be served by keeping this petition on the file. If the cause of Petitioners survives, it is open for the Petitioners to make a representation to the Respondent-State which will be considered by the Respondent-State on its own merits. Subject to other time-bound commitments, the concerned authority will inform the outcome to the Petitioners within a period of eight weeks from the date the representation is received. 3.

The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. Rule discharged.
