The term of the elected body of Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Umerkhed is expired on 02/12/2023 and extension was granted up to 02/06/2024.

The petitioners have submitted a proposal for grant of further extension of six months in view of provisions of Section 14(3A) of the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (Development and Regulation) Act, 1963 which is further recommended by the District Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Yavatmal to the Director, Marketing.

It is informed that till date the respondents have not taken any decision on the said recommendation.

Shri S. M. Ukey, learned Additional Government Pleader would urge that the State Government may pass appropriate orders in the matter in due course.

Be that as it may, we direct respondent Nos.1 and 2 to deal with the recommendation made by respondent No.3 in the matter of grant of extension to the governing body of the Agricultural Produce Marketing

916-WP-3122-24.odt 2/2 Committee, Umerkhed as recommended vide communication dated 02/05/2024 as expeditiously as possible and in any case by 31/05/2024.

For aforesaid purpose the petitioners shall appear before the Director, Marketing on 14/05/2024 with copy of this order. 8.

The learned Additional Government Pleader to communicate this order to respondent Nos.1 to 3.
