By these Writ Petitions, the Petitioners/educational institutes have sought a direction to Respondent Nos.1 and 2 State of Maharashtra, through Social Justice and Special Assistance Department and Higher and Technical Education Department to consider the proposals of the Petitioners for starting Master of Social Work Course in the specified institution.

2) The Petitioner Societies have established Colleges, which are affiliated to Respondent No.4 University, Shri Kulkarni, learned Counsel for the Respondent No.4 University, states that positive recommendations have been made by the University in respect of Petitioners' proposals and now decision is to be taken by the Respondent Nos.1 and 2.

3) Shri Madiwale, learned Assistant Government Pleader for the Respondent Nos.1 to 3, states that it is doubtful whether applications/proposals of the earlier years can be carried forward for the present year. However, no such communication has been issued to the Petitiioners and the proposals of the Petitioners have not been decided at all. The expection of the Petitioners that decision should be taken on their proposals is reasonable.

4) We dispose of the Petitions by directing Respondent Nos.1 and 2 to take a decision upon the proposals submitted by the Petitioners and as recommended by the Respondent No.4 University within a period of eight weeks from the order reaches Respondent Nos.1 and 2. We make it clear that decisions would be taken as per law and on merits of the proposals of each of the Petitioners. It is open to the Petitioners to send copies of the decisions of this Court, which the Petitioners seek to rely upon in support of their proposals to Respondent Nos.1 and 2. It is also open to the Respondent Nos. 1 and 2 to examine the said decisions and take an appropriate decision.

5) Writ Petitions are accordingly disposed of.
