Since the matter pertains to the disqualification of the petitioner as a member of the Gram Panchayat and the same is filed in the year 2007, the cause for filing the writ petition would not survive as the term of the office of the member of the Gram Panchayat is only five years, as per the Bombay Village Panchayat Act.
Hence, we dispose of the writ petition with no order as to costs. Rule stands discharged.
