IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT BOMBAY,

Mirza and Mr. A.J. Mirza, Counsel for the petitioner, Mrs. Mugdha Chandurkar, Counsel for respondent No.1, Mr. K.R. Lule, AGP for respondent No.2, Ms. Neerja Chaubey, Counsel for respondent No.3. CORAM : NITIN W. SAMBRE & ABHAY J. MANTRI , J J .
DATED : 12-06-2024 The then Chief Secretary-respondent No.4 was granted extension upto 30-6-2024 by the Government of India vide impugned order dated 30-3-2024.
2.
Such extension was also approved by respondent No.3-Election Commission of India.
3.
Prima facie we are of the view that the grant of extension to respondent No.4 on the post of Chief Secretary was in view of the Lok-Sabha Elections. 4.
Apart from above, we hardly see any locus to the petitioner to question the order impugned.
5.
That being so, the public interest litigation, in our opinion, lacks merit and is dismissed accordingly. (ABHAY J. MANTRI, J.) (NITIN W. SAMBRE, J.) adgokar
