Although the learned Counsel for the applicant has urged before this Court that the appellant was not in conscious possession of the contraband articles, prime facie, I find the case to be otherwise. Therefore, this would not be a fit case for allowing this application seeking suspension of sentence. However, considering the fact that the applicant/appellant is a woman and also the fact that she is in jail since about one year, the appeal deserves to be placed on fast track for final disposal. The application is rejected with liberty to file afresh if the appeal cannot be disposed of within six months from the date of the order.

Let this appeal be listed for final hearing on 02/9/2016. Paper book is dispensed with.
