The petition was filed specifically for a direction to the respondents to reconsider the issue of grant of permission to Chandrapur Government Medical College and Hospital from the year 2015-2016. By way of our interim order dated 8.7.2015, we had directed respondent no.5- Union of India to approve the scheme submitted by respondent no.1State of Maharashtra for establishing Government Medical College with an annual intake of 100 MBBS students at Chandrapur. The said order was challenged before the Hon'ble Apex Court by way of S.L.P.No.19504/2015. However, the said SLP was disposed of by their Lordships vide order dated 24.07.2015.

A question for continuation of approval for the academic session 2015-2016 also fell for consideration before us. However, on this occasion, the Medical Council of India was gracious enough to give a positive

PIL54-15.odt recommendation for continuation of the approval for academic session 2016-2017 also.

In that view of the matter, we find that the petition has served its purpose. The same is disposed of. However, we reserve the liberty of the petitioners to approach again if the petitioners find that there are impediments in continuing the Medical College or there are lapses on the part of the State Government in providing the necessary infrastructure facilities.
