The Appeal challenges the judgment dated 07.06.2022, whereby the Appellant has been convicted for the offence punishable under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (for short, "the said Act") and sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for two years and to pay a fine of Rs.6,000/- (Six Thousand Only), and in default of payment to suffer rigorous imprisonment for one month and also convicted for the offence punishable under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(d) of the said Act, and sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for two years and to pay a fine of Rs.5,000/- (Five Thousand Only), and in default of payment of fine to suffer rigorous imprisonment for one month.

It is submitted, that the fine amount has been deposited.

CRIMINAL APPLICATION NO.472 OF 2022 5.

The Applicant seeks suspension of sentence and release on bail.

Accepting the statement, that the Applicant was on bail through out the trial and though, the application is opposed by the learned APP, the sentence imposed upon the Applicant is hereby suspended and the Applicant be released on bail on his furnishing a P. R. Bond in the sum of Rs.25,000/- (Twenty Five Thousand Only) with two solvent sureties in the like amount. 7.

Criminal Application is allowed.
