The present application has been filed on behalf of the Investigating Officer for extending the time to complete the open inquiry.

This Court by order dated 19th August, 2023 had directed the Anti Corruption Bureau to complete the inquiry within four months from that day.

Learned Public Prosecutor submits that though the report has been submitted by the Investigating Officer, as directed by SKNair

32-wp-709-18.odt the Higher Officer, further investigation needs to be done on certain points, therefore, time needs to be extended. 4.

Though as per the application, the time which was sought was of six months, however, it is to be noted that already four months time has been granted. The open inquiry ought to have been conducted almost day to day basis but when the Superior Officer has given directions to conduct further inquiry on certain points "we find reasonable ground is shown for extending the period". 5.

Shri Sanjay Purandare, Additional Superintendent of Police, Anti Corruption Bureau, Nagpur is present before this Court and assures that further inquiry will be completed within the time limit that would be granted.

In view of the said statement, we extend the time of one month from today.

The criminal application stands disposed of.
