: SMT VASANTI A NAIK & M. G. GIRATKAR, JJ.
DATE : 5.9.2017.
By this Criminal Writ Petition, the petitioner seeks a direction against the respondents to reduce the term of imprisonment of the petitioner from 28 years to 20 years.
It appears on hearing the learned Counsel for the parties and on a perusal of the guidelines pertaining to the pre-mature release of convicts undergoing life imprisonment that the petitioner was rightly directed to be released after undergoing the sentence of 28 years as he has committed the heinous offence of rape with murder. Since there is no merit in the Writ Petition, we dismiss the same with no order as to costs.
