The applicant is arrested on 26th April, 2017 in connection with crime registered against him for the offences punishable under Sections 354-A, 506 of the Indian Penal Code, Sections 7 and 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and Section 3(i)(ii) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The crime is registered on the complaint lodged by Mahadu Shankar Sable that the applicant took grand daughter of the complainant, aged about 10 years, in a hut erected in the field and committed offence as alleged. The applicant is aged about 70 years. The chargesheet is filed on 5th May, 2017. Though the nature of the accusations against the applicant are of serious nature, as the non-applicant has not been able to point out that the custody of the applicant is required for investigation, the following

The applicant having been arrested in connection with Crime No.395 of 2016 registered by the non-applicant, he be released on bail on executing P.R. Bond for Rs.25,000/- and furnishing one solvent surety in the like amount to be given by the son of the applicant named Vishnu Parasram Popalghat and in addition, Bond for Rs.25,000/- to be executed by daughter-in-law of the applicant namely Jyoti Vishnu Popalghat. The condition that the solvent surety shall be furnished by the son of applicant and bond shall be executed by the daughter-in-law of the applicant is imposed looking to the nature of accusations against the applicant and after the learned advocate for the applicant sought instructions in this regard from son of the applicant. The applicant shall not enter Washim District till the conclusion of trial unless granted permission by the Special Court.
