The petitioner was granted leasehold rights for excavation of minor mineral. Initially, the lease was granted in the year 2017 for a period of five years. That period was from 7-4-2017 to 6-4-2022. Subsequently, on 22-9-2021, the lease was extended for a period of one year from 7-4-2022 to 6-4-2023. The petitioner has on 21-2-2023 made an application for further renewal of lease for a period of five years. Since this application is pending with Corrected as per Hon'ble Court's order dated 17-72023 in CAW No.1950 of 2023.

the respondent No.2, the petitioner seeks a direction for expeditious consideration of the said application.

Considering the fact that the petitioner's application dated 21-2-2023 is pending with the respondent No.2, it is directed that the respondent No.2 shall consider the said application in accordance with law and take a decision thereon in the matter of grant of renewal of lease. Necessary decision in that regard shall be taken within a period of four weeks of receiving the copy of this order. 5.
