DATED : 22-12-2020 The applicants are apprehending arrest in Crime 551/2020 registered with Barshitakli Police Station for offences punishable under Section 498-A read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019.

Vide order dated 16-10-2020, the pre-arrest protection was denied to applicant 1-husband and granted to the rest of the applicants. It is not the case of the prosecution that applicants 2 to 5 have not attended the police station as directed.

Applicant 1-husband is arrested and then released on regular bail. A statement is made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor Mrs. Kalyani Deshpande that investigation is virtually complete.

Custodial interrogation is not necessary. For
