By this Writ Petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent-Scrutiny Committee to decide the caste claim of the petitioner. The petitioner seeks a direction against the University and the College to protect the education of the petitioner, till her caste claim is decided.

Ms. Nivedita Mehta, the learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing for the respondentScrutiny Committee states on instructions that the caste claim of the petitioner is pending and the same would be decided as early as possible.

In view of the statement made by the

13.07.wp.3371.16 learned Assistant Government Pleader, we allow the Writ Petition. We direct the Scrutiny Committee to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within a period of one year from the date of appearance of the petitioner before the Scrutiny Committee. The petitioner undertakes to appear before the Scrutiny Committee on 2nd August, 2016. Since the petitioner is not at fault in not producing the caste validity certificate, the education of the petitioner is protected, till her caste claim is decided.

Order accordingly. No costs.
