In proceedings under Section 11 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (for short, the said Act) a sole arbitrator came to be appointed by order dated 03/11/2017. Pursuant thereto the proceedings before the Arbitrator commenced and it was agreed between the parties that the same would be concluded by the end of June 2019. It has however transpired that two witnesses are yet to be examined and in that backdrop the present application under Section 29-A(5) of the said Act has been moved for extending the time to complete the proceedings.

The learned counsel for the parties agree that such extension is necessary to enable completion of the arbitration proceedings.
