Heard Shri A.P. Kalmegh, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mrs. H.N. Prabhu, learned AGP for respondent Nos. 1 to 3 and Shri Roshan Suryawanshi, learned counsel for respondent No. 4.

Admittedly, the caste claim is pending. We have protected the post of the petitioner as Sarpanch by passing interim orders on 02.07.2018.

The learned AGP is seeking time of one year to complete verification.

We find that when the statue grants the petitioner time of six months only to furnish validity, period of one year cannot be granted. We, therefore, direct the Scrutiny Committee to complete verification within next six months. Interim orders dated 02.07.2018 to continue till then and shall be subject to it.

Writ Petition is thus partly allowed and disposed of. No order as to costs.
