The petitioner cleared the Elementry Grade drawing examination that was held in 2019 as well as Intermediate Grade drawing examination that was held in 2022 in 'C' Grade. In accordance with Government Resolution dated 24/11/2017 and especially Clause 2.3.1 thereof, the petitioner became entitled to be granted 3 additional marks at the Secondary School Certificate Examination for having passed Intermediate drawing examination in Grade-C. The last date for making such application for being entitled for these 3 marks was 20/03/2023. The petitioner's father moved such application only on 12/04/2023. By the said date the School had forwarded about 8 proposals that were received within time. By the impugned communication the petitioner has been informed that since such application has been made belatedly, said 3 marks cannot be given.

On hearing the learned counsel for the parties and on perusing the documents on record we find that in terms of the said Government Resolution dated 24/11/2017 the last date for making such application which has been extended from time to time was 20/03/2023. The petitioner's application is admittedly made beyond the last date. We therefore find that there is no basis to direct consideration of the petitioner's request for grant of said 3 marks since the cut-off date for seeking such benefit had been crossed. Those who had applied prior to said date were granted such benefit. There being no illegality, the writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
