The substantive prayer of the petitioner was that weapon deposited by the petitioner has been not returned back in terms of the guidelines issued on this behalf. The petitioner has deposited the weapon during the election of October, 2024. According to the petitioner, the respondents should have returned back the weapon within seven days of declaration of result. Respondent no. 4, however, has returned back the weapon only after the order passed by this Court. 3.

Though the respondent no. 4 has acted belatedly, the fact remains that grievance of the petitioner has been redressed. So far as delay in returning the weapon is concerned, we grant liberty to the petitioner to take recourse to the remedy as is available in law.
