The applicant - Sneha Manoj Verma has filed this application seeking permission for withdrawal of the compensation amount which is invested with State Bank of India, Wardhaman Nagar Branch, Nagpur.

On account of custodial death, compensation was sought by legal heirs of Manoj Verma by invoking writ jurisdiction of this Court. Rgd.
Order 0808appw96.24 In said petition State was directed to pay compensation, and this Court has clarified that the applicant Sneha is entitled for an amount of Rs.2 lakhs. It reveals that by efflux of time the applicant has attained majority and therefore, she is seeking withdrawal of the said amount. State has no objection for withdrawal of the amount.

In view of above, we hold that the applicant Sneha Manoj Verma, on producing proof of majority and identity, is entitled for withdrawal of sum of Rs. 2 lakhs, along with the accrued interest, on furnishing appropriate undertaking to the Bank. The concerned Bank be informed to act accordingly.

Criminal Application is accordingly disposed of.
