Rule. Rule made returnable forthwith and heard the learned Counsel for the parties.

2] The only prayer made by the petitioner is for expeditious consideration of the petitioner's claim of belonging to '

Halbi' Scheduled Tribe. The petitioner seeks to rely upon the judgment of this Court in Shreyas Deorao Katole Vs. The Committee For Verification of Tribe Certificates, Yavatmal, through its Member Secretary [Writ Petition No. 3150/2020 decided on 12/4/2023] wherein this Court upheld the claim of the petitioner's brother. The learned Additional Government Pleader however submits that the Scrutiny Committee is desirous of challenging the said decision as well as the validity certificate issued pursuant thereto. On instructions, he submits that within a period of one month, the claim of the petitioner would be decided.

3] In view of aforesaid, the Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to decide the petitioner's tribe claim within a period of one month from today. The claim be decided on its own merits and the decision be communicated to the petitioner.
