By this writ petition, the petitioners have sought a direction against the respondents to complete the selection process for appointment to the post of Kotwal. Ms. R.V. Kaliya, the learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents states, on instructions, that since there were some irregularities in the selection process, the selection process has been cancelled. It is stated that the respondents would conduct a fresh selection process as and when the respondents so desire.

In view of the statement made by the learned Assistant Government Pleader, we dispose of the writ petition with no order as to costs.
