Shiralkar for petitioner submits that arrears of revised pay scale of petitioner are already deposited in his Account by respondent no.2 Municipal Council and petitioner is due for retirement shortly. He further submits that interest on delayed payment of arrears needs to be computed and made over to petitioner.

Adv. Lakhey for respondent no.2 submits that payment of interest may take sometime.

The fact that interest is payable is not in dispute. In this situation, we direct petitioner to submit appropriate representation giving details of

If such representation is made within three weeks from today, respondent no.2 shall examine it and quantify the amount of interest payable to the petitioner within next six weeks. Payment in terms thereof shall be paid to the petitioner within further period of three months.

Acceptance of that payment shall not preclude the petitioner from challenging correctness of exercise undertaken. With this liberty, we dispose of the petition. No costs.
