In this writ petition, the petitioner has challenged the order passed by the Returning Officer rejecting the nomination paper of the petitioner for contesting elections to the Gram Panchayat. By interim order dated 23-7-2015, the petitioner was permitted to contest the said election by issuing directions to the Returning Officer to accept the nomination paper of the petitioner provisionally. In the reply filed on behalf of the respondent nos.1 & 2, it has been stated that the petitioner contested the aforesaid election and after declaration of result it was found that he had lost the said election.

Though request is made on behalf of the petitioner for grant of adjournment, considering the fact that the petitioner has contested the election and has not succeeded therein, nothing survives in the present writ

2 11.8wp4229.15 petition. By keeping remedy of the petitioner to challenge the result of the election open, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
