The petitioners who claim to be the owners of fair price shops within the jurisdiction of Tahsil Narkhed are aggrieved by the order dated 30/06/2022 passed by the District Supply Officer, Nagpur by which the Tahsildar was directed to undertake exercise of approving new fair price shops in the area. That exercise has been undertaken in view of Government Resolution dated 06/07/2017. The petitioners have filed an appeal by invoking Clause-24 of the Maharashtra Scheduled Commodities (Regulation of Distribution) Regulation, 1975 before the Deputy Commissioner of Supplies. On 19/07/2022 the Deputy Commissioner sought for necessary information from the District Supply Officer with a view to complete the aforesaid

According to the petitioners issuance of communication dated 30/06/2022 is likely to prejudice them as the number of fair price shops will be increased in the Tahsil. Considering the fact that the petitioners have already approached the Deputy Commissioner of Supplies for redressal of their grievance, the interests of justice would be made by directing the respondent No.5 to decide those proceedings filed under Clause-24 expeditiously and preferably within a period of fifteen days from today. The petitioners shall co-operate with the said Authority for expeditious disposal of the proceedings. The learned Additional Government Pleader to communicate this order to the respondent No.5.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly with no order as to costs.
