Daruwala, Advocate for appellant Shri S.S. Doifode, APP for respondent CORAM : A.B. CHAUDHARI AND P.N. DESHMUKH, JJ.
DATE : 13.08.2015 During the course of hearing of this appeal, Advocate Shri M.P. Khajanchi of the Nagpur High Court Bar Association urged this Court to take cognizance of the fact that there is a practice to cause injury to the bullocks carrying carts used for transport of articles required for agricultural operations. He submits that he would like to file an application for intervention in this appeal with a request to this Court to take cognizance of the cruel treatment to the animals, which amounts to an offence under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. He then submits that he would frame a proper petition by interacting with the persons who are stakeholders including the farmers and find out solution and then suggest the alternatives.
For the present, we allow him to intervene in the matter with a hope that he would file a proper petition in this Court which shall be considered after its filing. Stand over after one week for that purpose.
