DATED : 22 - 0 6 -201 The applicant is in custody in connection with Crime 347/2016 for offence punishable under Sections 8C, 20-B, 22 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Temporary bail is sought inter alia on the ground that the niece of the applicant is to get married on 30-6-2018 and that he is the only maternal uncle. 3.

The other ground is that he would like to take care of his ailing wife for few days.

This Court is not impressed with the request for temporary bail. However, if certain essential religious ceremony has to be performed as the maternal uncle of the bride, the jail authority is directed to permit the applicant to do so on the day of the marriage under police escort at the costs of the applicant.
