In the present petition, the following prayers are made by the petitioners:

"I] To declare that the present petitioners are entitled to receive interest on the amounts of their Final Payments of G.P.F. and that the respondents are liable to pay the said interest amount of Rs. 8,63,185/- as per calculation sheet at Annexure-11, to the petitioners. II] To direct the respondents authority to pay interest on the said G.P.F. Amounts, as this Honourable Court may deem fit and proper, to the petitioners forthwith, in the interest of justice. III] To allow the instant Petition, in the interest of Justice.

IV] To saddle the costs of the Writ Petition on the respondents.

V] To grant any other relief which this Hon'ble Court deems fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the instant case, in favour of the petitioners."

Considering the fact that the petitioners are claiming interest on delayed payment of GPF, we are of the opinion that the grievance can be considered and decided by the respondent No.2 since, it appears from the record that the respondent-authority took more than six months period to release the payment of GPF.

Accordingly, we direct the respondent No.2 to treat the present petition as representation made by the petitioners and decide the same in the light of the prayers and documents filed alongwith the petition.

The respondent No. 2 shall take decision within six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this petition alongwith this order and relevant documents.

The decision on the representation shall be communicated to the petitioners within one week from the date of the decision.

7.

Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of, in the above terms.
