Heard Shri V.R. Chaudhari, learned counsel for the petitioners, Shri N.S. Rao, learned AGP for respondent No. 1 and Shri S.A. Chaudhari, learned counsel for respondent No. 2.

Respondent No. 1 - Committee is considering the caste claims of both the petitioners.

This Court has on 05.07.2017 issued notice and granted status quo. With the result, the petitioners are in employment.

The learned AGP submits that the efforts shall be made to complete scrutiny as per Maharashtra Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, De-notified Tribes (Vimukta Jatis), Nomadic Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Special Backward Category (Regulation of Issuance & Verification

2209wp4253.17 of) Caste Certificates Act, (Act No. 23 of 2001), within a reasonable time.

As pendency of caste claim is not in dispute, we direct respondent No. 1 - Committee to complete verification as per law in next one year. Interim orders granted by this Court on 05.07.2017 shall continue till then and shall be subject to it.

Writ Petitions are accordingly partly allowed and disposed of. No order as to costs.
