The grievance of the petitioner is that the nomination paper of the petitioner has been wrongly rejected on the ground that the petitioner has not annexed any document to substantiate that the caste certificate of the petitioner has been submitted to the Caste Scrutiny Committee for verification. In my view, prima facie the reason given by the Returning Officer is in consonance with the requirement of Clause (i) in proviso below Section 10-1A of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act. This is not a fit case for exercising the extra-ordinary writ jurisdiction. The petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to avail of appropriate remedy, if so advised.
