Petitioner has challenged the order of Tahsildar imposing penalty in terms of Section 48(7) of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966.

There is an alternate remedy to file appeal before the Sub Divisional Officer in terms of Section 247 of the M.L.R. Code and thereafter to the Collector. In the circumstances, in view of availability of an efficacious alternate remedy, I am not inclined to entertain the petition. Writ Petition is disposed of. 4.
If any appeal is filed by the petitioner before the Sub Divisional Officer within a period of two weeks from today, the said Authority shall endeavour to decide the same in accordance with law within a further period of four weeks.
