DATE :- 12th AUGUST, 2024 Having heard the respective counsel, we are of the view that the claim put forth by the petitioner before the Collector pursuant to the sub-section (3) of Section 29 of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1959 shall be decided expeditiously. 2.

We are informed that the hearing of the said proceedings is already concluded as stated by Mr. Chopde, learned counsel appearing for the intervener.

Accepting the said statement, we deem it appropriate to direct the Collector to decide the claim of the petitioner within a period of two weeks from today.

Once the claim is decided and in case if the same is adverse to the interest of the petitioner, the vacancy shall not be notified

32-WP-4200-2024 2 for a period of one week from the date making the copy of the Collector's order available to the petitioner. 5.

The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs. 6.

Consequential to above, the pending civil application shall also stand disposed of.
