By this petition, the petitioner has sought a direction to the Respondent-Scrutiny Committee to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within a time-frame. On the last date of hearing, Shri N. R. Rode, the learned Assistant Government Pleader appearing for the respondent-Scrutiny Committee had made a statement that the caste claim of the petitioner is decided by the Scrutiny Committee and the same is invalidated. The learned counsel for the petitioner has sought time to verify the statement made by the learned A.G.P. Today, the learned counsel for the petitioner states that indeed the caste claim of the petitioner is rejected by the Scrutiny Committee during the pendency of the Writ Petition and in view of the said development, the cause for filing the Writ Petition would not survive. The learned counsel states that the petitioner would take appropriate steps

for challenging the order of invalidation of his caste claim. In view of the aforesaid statements made on behalf of the parties, we dispose of the Writ Petition, with no order as to costs.
