DATE : March 03, 2017 By this application it is prayed that the delay in filing the cross-objection be condoned. It is stated in the application that the cross-objector is aged about eighty years and has not received the amount of compensation till filing of the application. It is therefore prayed that the delay be condoned.
The application is opposed by the learned counsel for respondent No.1/VIDC by stating that the reasons as assigned are not sufficient.
Considering the fact that the claimant has not yet received the amount of compensation, the delay in filing cross-objection is condoned subject to the claimant not being entitled for interest on the amount of compensation if enhanced for the period from 17/03/2011 till date. Delay in filing cross-objection is condoned in aforesaid terms.

In view of order passed on CAO No.1946/2016, the claimant would not be entitled for interest on the amount of compensation if enhanced for the period from 17/03/2011 till 03/03/2017.
