The respondents were directed to pay the arrears of salary to the petitioner vide order dated 22.09.2016 in Writ Petition No.5450 of 2015. The said order was modifed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court and arrears of salary was directed to be given to the petitioner w.e.f. 26.12.1989. According to the petitioner, this order is not complied with.

The respondents have pointed out in their afdavit that the arrears of salary have been paid to the petitioner in terms of the directions of

2 CP-162-2017 the Hon'ble Supreme Court. The respondents have paid an amount of Rs.31,78,397/- on 12.07.2016 and balance amount of Rs.7,77,368/- was paid on 01.10.2019. Thus, the entire arrears of salary have been paid to the petitioner and the order passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court is complied with.

In view of the compliance of the order, the contempt petition is disposed of.
