DATE : AUGUST 19, 2015 Prayer is to condone delay of 2956 days in filing the appeal. In the application it is stated that the applicant is residing in rural area and for want of means of communication and knowledge he could not contact his counsel for considerable period. Reason of poverty is also mentioned. It is therefore prayed that delay be condoned.

The application is opposed by learned counsel for the respondents on the ground that no sufficient cause has been shown. Perusal of the application indicates that the only reason given is want of means of communication and knowledge. It is also stated in the application that the amount of compensation was already received. There are no details mentioned as to when the applicant got knowledge and the steps taken thereafter. In this back drop it cannot be said that sufficient cause has been furnished by the applicant for condoning delay of almost eight years for filing the appeal. In absence of any satisfactory explanation, the application for condonation of delay stands rejected.
