This is an application for suspension of substantive sentence awarded to the applicant and for grant of bail.

The appellant, aged about 79 years, committed rape on a girl of 2 1⁄2 years of age for which he has been found guilty on voluminous evidence.

Looking to the nature of evidence led and looking to reasons recorded by the trial Judge, no case is made out for suspension of sentence and for grant of bail.

The application is, therefore, rejected.
