Apprehending arrest in connection with Crime No.6047 of 2017, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 65A, 65E, 66A and 77 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, 1949 the applicant seeks pre-arrest bail. According to the Investigating Agency, huge quantity of country liquor worth Rs.13,00,000/- was being transported by the applicant for being sold in Chandrapur district, where sale of liquor is prohibited. It is alleged that the boxes containing bottles of country liquor were being transported in a tipper used for transporting sand and when the vehicle was stopped and driver and two occupants of the vehicle were arrested and interrogated, they disclosed that the stock of liquor was being transported to Chandrapur district at the behest of the applicant who is Proprietor of Jyoti Traders, a licensed wholesale liquor shop. The learned advocate for the applicant has pointed out that the seizure is made within Nagpur district

2 aba510.17 and no overtact is attributed to the applicant. The applicant, aged about 53 years, claims to be businessman and has stated that he is not involved in any other crime / offence. In the facts of the case, following order is passed: In the event of arrest in connection with Crime No.6047 of 2017, registered by the non-applicant, the applicant be released on bail on executing P.R. Bond for Rs.Twenty Thousand.

The application is allowed accordingly.
