The only relief sought in the writ petition is for expeditious consideration of the appeal preferred by the petitioner under Section 16 (2) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1958.

Considering the fact that the appeal in question was filed in April, 2022, it is directed that a decision thereon be taken on merits by the end of February, 2023. The appeal be decided by giving due notice to all the concerned parties. With this direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
