Heard Mr. Kadu, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Mr. Mirza, learned A.P.P. for the respondents.

2] In this case, there is no dispute that the petitioner is entitled to regular furlough in terms of the Rules. The circumstance that he had never earlier applied for regular furlough and subsequently regular furlough was never granted to him, surely cannot come in the way of the petitioner for getting regular furlough.

3] Having regard to this distinguishing feature, we dispose of this petition by granting the petitioner liberty to apply for regular furlough in terms of the Rules.

2-WP-801-2021 4] If such application is made, we are sure that the same will be disposed of by the concerned authorities as expeditiously as possible and in any case within four weeks from the date of its receipt. The decision will have to be communicated to the petitioner within this period of four weeks.

5] With liberty as aforesaid, this petition is disposed of.
