DATE D : 07/08/2024 Heard the petitioner in-person. The petitioner- a convict is undergoing sentence at Morshi Open Prison from 01/05/2023, he has already undergone 7 years of imprisonment excluding remission. It is petitioner's contention that he is eligible to pursue private employment in open colonies under the Rules and Regulations. The petitioner has applied to the respondent No.1- Inspector General of Prison on 09/03/2024 for said purpose but it was not decided.

In view of above, we direct respondent No.1 to decide the petitioner's representation dated 09/03/2024 claiming directions for providing upgradation of skilled work as per his eligibility.

The authority shall take decision within four weeks from the receipt of communication of this Court. 4.

The petition stands disposed in above terms.
