DATE: 15.09.2022 The First Information Report is lodged on 16.2.2022 in respect of offences punishable under sections 7 and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the chargesheet is not filed as yet.

A direction is sought that the chargesheet be filed within the next ten days.

We are not inclined to set any time limit as such for filing the chargesheet considering that the offence is registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the submission of the learned APP Mr. M.J. Khan is that the chargesheet shall be filed after obtaining the statutory sanction.

The learned APP further assures the Court that efforts shall be made to obtain the sanction expeditiously and the chargesheet thereafter shall be filed without any unreasonable delay.
