By this Writ Petition, the petitioner seeks a direction against the respondent no.1-Municipal Corporation, to pay the gratuity amount as per the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, as early as possible.

It is stated on behalf of the respondent no.1 that the list of retired employees is big and it is decided that every month from December 2016 onwards, ten persons would be paid the outstanding amount, according to their position in the list of retired employees. It is stated that the aforesaid method of payment is implemented in view of the acute financial crisis. It is stated that the dues of the petitioner would be positively paid on or before 31st May 2017.

By accepting the statement made on behalf of the respondent no.1, that would be binding on the respondents, we dispose of the Writ petition, with no order as to costs. JUDGE JUDGE sahare
